Position: Youth Basketball Coach (Ages 5-10)

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Youth Basketball Coach who has a passion for working with young children and the patience to teach beginners. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of basketball fundamentals and the creativity to make learning enjoyable for kids. This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about developing young talent and ensuring that every child finds joy and confidence on the basketball court.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement fun, engaging basketball drills and games suitable for children aged 5-10.

• Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for all students.

• Teach basic basketball skills, rules, and sportsmanship principles.

• Assess each child's ability and progress, offering personalized encouragement and instruction to promote their development.

• Work closely with parents and guardians to communicate their child's progress and how they can support their love for basketball.

• Ensure that all activities are conducted in a manner that prioritizes the children's safety and enjoyment.

• Organize and supervise friendly matches and basketball activities that enhance team spirit and joy for the game.

• Stay updated on teaching methods and basketball coaching techniques suitable for young children.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in coaching or teaching sports to young children, with a preference for candidates with basketball coaching experience.

• Exceptional patience and the ability to engage with children at their level.

• Strong foundational knowledge of basketball.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions to children and effectively communicate with parents.

• Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.

• A coaching certification or willingness to obtain a certification tailored to coaching young children is highly desirable.
